This 1963 Volvo 122S sedan was purchased by the seller five years ago, and it had previously been recommissioned after reportedly sitting in a Texas barn for decades. Under current ownership, the car has been fitted with front and rear IPD anti-sway bars as well as a replacement exhaust system, fuel pump, suspension bushings, and ignition components. The car wears an older repaint in burgundy over gray cloth and velour, and it is powered by a 1.8-liter inline-four linked with a four-speed manual transmission. Details include chromed 15″ wheels, hubcaps, a badge bar, and an aftermarket coolant-temperature gauge. This 122S is now offered with Connecticut registration.

Finished from the factory in Cherry Red (46), the exterior was refinished in its current burgundy shade under prior ownership. Imperfections include dings, dents, damaged brightwork, and painted-over weather seals. The front bumper is equipped with a badge bar, and there is a B18 emblem in the early-style grille.

The car has been fitted with IPD anti-sway bars front and rear, and the seller tells us that most of the suspension bushings were replaced under current ownership. The chromed 15″ steel wheels have thin-whitewall tires, and braking is handled by front discs and rear drums.

The Amazon received an updated seat design beginning in 1964, and the early style “horseshoe” bucket seats of this 1963 example are trimmed in gray cloth and vinyl. Interior metal surfaces retain their Cherry Red (46) finish, and the seller notes evidence of older upholstery work under prior ownership. The heater controls are stiff, the dashboard wears a carpeted cover, and the headliner and door seals are worn. The left vent window does not seat properly, and the driver’s window requires careful winding to stay on its guide tracks. The seller advises that the door locks are not trustworthy, and the dash is perforated left of the choke control.

The steering wheel wears a brown, perforated wrap and frames a non-working VDO horizontal-sweep speedometer. The factory water-temperature gauge does not work, but a functional aftermarket unit has been fitted beneath the dashboard. The five-digit odometer is stuck at a reading of 25k miles, and total mileage is unknown, although the seller estimates that 6k miles have been added under current ownership.

The 1.8-liter B18D inline-four was equipped from the factory with dual SU carburetors for a rating of 90 horsepower and 105 lb-ft of torque. Work within the last four years has included replacing the exhaust system, fuel pump, fuel filter, spark plugs, ignition wires, ignition coil, and voltage regulator.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed M40 manual transmission whose clutch was replaced within the last four years. Additional photographs of the underside are provided in the gallery below.
The vehicle is offered on its registration, which serves as the ownership document.
