This 2005 BMW M3 coupe was specified in Imola Red over black Nappa leather, and it was optioned with the Competition and Premium packages. The car’s SMG transmission was converted to manual operation before it was offered on BaT in July 2022, and subsequent work included the installation of a replacement six-speed manual transmission as well as rebuilding the shifter, installing Bilstein dampers and H&R springs, performing a cruise control retrofit, refinishing the front bumper cover, and replacing the headliner, steering wheel, thermostat, rod bearings, subframe bushings, driveline mounts, and assorted suspension components. Powered by a 3.2-liter inline-six, the car is equipped with a limited-slip differential, 19″ M cross-spoke Style 163M wheels, a power sunroof, xenon headlights, Park Distance Control parking sensors, power-adjustable front sport seats, an AVIN touchscreen stereo head unit, a Harman Kardon sound system, and automatic climate control. Acquired by the seller in 2026, this E46 M3 has 116k miles and is now offered with manufacturer’s literature, service records, a Carfax report, and a clean North Carolina title.

The car is finished in Imola Red (405) and features Shadowline trim as well as xenon headlights, fog lights, an electric glass sunroof, Park Distance Control parking sensors, rain-sensing windshield wipers, LED taillights, a trunk lid spoiler, and quad exhaust outlets. The Carfax report shows an accident entry from August 2006 with no additional information provided. The front bumper cover was repainted in July 2026, and replacement emblems, side markers, and license plate lights were installed at that time. Photos of the car with the front bumper cover removed, along with the exterior condition and paint meter readings are viewable in the gallery below.

The 19″ M cross-spoke Style 163M wheels are mounted with staggered-width Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4 tires that show 2021 production codes. Bilstein dampers and H&R Sport springs were installed in October 2024, along with replacement control arm bushings, and the seller tells us that the rear trailing arm bushings were replaced in 2026. The Competition Package added an upgraded steering rack and larger cross-drilled brake rotors.

The power-adjustable front sport seats are upholstered in black Nappa leather, and Milled-Effect Aluminum trim accents the dash and door panels. An AVIN Avant 4 stereo head unit with Bluetooth connectivity and navigation was installed in 2023, and work in 2026 consisted of refreshing the interior trim, replacing the headliner and pillar upholstery, and installing a Euro center console and an E90-specification rearview mirror. Additional appointments include a magnetic phone mount, M3-branded floor mats, automatic climate control, and a Harman Kardon sound system.

A replacement Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel was installed in 2026, along with a replacement steering coupler and a Z4-specification cruise control stalk and a cruise control retrofit kit. The digital odometer indicates 116k miles, approximately 2,500 of which were added under current ownership.

The 3.2-liter S54 inline-six was factory rated at 333 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque. The double-VANOS system is said to have been overhauled at approximately 111k miles, and replacement connecting rod bearings were installed in August 2023. Service in July 2026 included an oil change and replacing the thermostat, filters, and engine mounts.

The factory six-speed SMG transmission was converted to manual operation in 2020, and it sends power to the rear wheels through a limited-slip differential. A replacement transmission was installed in August 2023 by Quantum Speed Works in Alton, Virginia, and a new clutch slave cylinder was installed at that time. Powerflex urethane differential bushings were installed in October 2024. Rogue Engineering transmission mount was installed and the shifter was rebuilt in July 2026.
