1971 Authi Mini Van

This 1971 Authi Mini van was built in Spain under license from British Leyland and was reportedly used by the Sanglas motorcycle company in Barcelona as a delivery vehicle. Finished in white with a purple roof over saddle vinyl upholstery, the van is powered by an 848cc inline-four linked to a four-speed manual transaxle. It features 10″ steel wheels, a roof vent, barn-style cargo doors, dual fender-mounted mirrors, and a cabin heater. Acquired by the seller in 2021, this Mini van is now offered in Spain with Spanish registration in the seller’s name.

The van was assembled under license from British Leyland by Automoviles de Turismo Hispano Ingleses (Authi) in Pamplona, Spain. Finished in white, the seller tells us the roof was painted purple under previous ownership. It features an integrated steel grille, dual fender-mounted mirrors, a roof vent, rear mudflaps, and barn-style cargo doors.

The 10″ steel wheels wear chrome hubcaps and were reportedly mounted with Falken SN-807 tires in 2022. Stopping power is provided by drum brakes at all four corners. The brake fluid was flushed and the brake light switch was replaced in preparation for the sale.

The cabin features seats upholstered in saddle vinyl with matching door cards along with a cabin heater, a rubber cargo mat, and a “Magic Wand” gearshift lever.

The two-spoke steering sits ahead of a 150-km/h Smiths speedometer with an integrated fuel-level gauge, and auxiliary instrumentation comprises a steering column-mounted tachometer and a water temperatue gauge. The speedometer needle bounces while driving, per the seller. The five-digit odometer shows 70k kilometers (~43k miles), approximately 1k of which were covered under current ownership.

The 848cc A-series inline-four features an SU carburetor and a Lucas Gold ignition coil and was factory-rated at 34 horsepower and 44 lb-ft of torque.

Power is sent to the front wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle. A sump guard is installed. Additional underside photos are shown in the gallery below.

The vehicle is being sold on its Spanish registration, which notes the make as “Morris”.
