This 1967 Jaguar XKE Series I roadster was built on March 8, 1967 and was sold new at British Motor Car Distributors of San Francisco, California. It was refurbished in the late 1990s, including a repaint and the installation of a rebuilt 4.2-liter inline-six equipped with triple SU carburetors. It is powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six linked to a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Finished in Willow Green over black leather, the car is equipped with a black soft top, a soft top boot, 15″ wire-spoke wheels, power-assisted disc brakes, triple windshield wipers, and a Pioneer CD stereo. Mechanical recommissioning was performed in 2020, and the selling dealer acquired the car in 2021. This XKE Series I roadster is now offered with a Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate, original purchase documents, the owner’s manual, service records, spare parts, and a clean Washington title.

The Series I E-Types were equipped with covered headlights and taillights mounted above the chrome rear bumpers. This example is finished in Willow Green and was stripped to bare metal and repainted in 1999. Equipment includes a black soft top, a soft top boot, a louvered clamshell hood, wraparound chrome bumpers, bright trim, a driver-side mirror, triple windshield wipers, and dual exhaust outlets.

The 15″ wire wheels are secured by two-eared knock-offs and are mounted with 205/70 Cooper tires. Braking is provided by four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rear rotors.

The cabin features bucket seats upholstered in black leather along with color-coordinated door panels and carpets. Interior appointments include black vinyl dash trim, a sliding rearview mirror, a Pioneer CD stereo, and a heater.

The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a Smiths 160-mph speedometer and 6k-rpm tachometer, while auxiliary gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and amperage are located in the center of the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 33k miles, approximately 100 of which were added by the selling dealer.

The replacement 4.2-liter inline-six features triple SU carburetors and was rebuilt before being installed in 1999. More recent servicing of the fuel system, ignition, and exhaust was performed in 2020, and handwritten records from the work are provided in the gallery. An oil change was performed in 2026. Exhaust leaks and sagging engine mounts are noted on a November 2020 invoice.

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a full-synchromesh four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The clutch hydraulic cylinders were replaced in 2020.

The Jaguar Heritage Trust Production Record Trace certificate shows the original colors and drivetrain numbers as well as the build and dispatch dates.

A handful of photos taken during the refurbishment are provided in the gallery.
