This 1980 Yamaha XS850 Special is a New Ruby Red example that remained with its first owner from new until its 2025 acquisition by the seller, reportedly following over two decades of garage storage. Powered by an air-cooled 826cc DOHC triple paired with a five-speed transmission, the motorcycle is further equipped with an enclosed driveshaft, a kick starter, an electric starter, a dual-outlet exhaust system, a leading-axle fork, triple disc brakes, seven-spoke alloy wheels, a two-up seat, a rear grab bar, chrome-finished fenders, and both center and side stands. Work under current ownership included changing the oil, overhauling the triple Hitachi carburetors, and replacing the battery, air filter, fuel petcocks, and tires. This XS850-SG shows 17k miles and is offered at no reserve with parts receipts and a clean California title in the seller’s name.

The bodywork is finished in New Ruby Red with gold badges. Additional features include a contoured two-up seat, a rear grab bar, folding passenger foot pegs, chrome-finished fenders, dual mirrors, and both center and side stands.

Seven-spoke alloy wheels were reportedly mounted with a 100/90-19″ Shinko front tire and a 130/90-16″ Kenda tire in 2025. Suspension consists of an air-adjustable leading-axle fork in addition to twin shocks attached to the driveshaft enclosure on the left and the swingarm on the right. Braking is from dual discs up front and a single disc at the rear.

The chrome-finished handlebar is mounted aft of an 85-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 9k-rpm redline, and a central bank of warning lamps. The five-digit odometer shows 17k miles.
