This 1964 Pontiac Catalina Safari station wagon has been customized and refurbished, and it was acquired by the seller on BaT in October 2024. Since that time, the car has received an overhaul of its air suspension, with Choice Chassis and Brake installing fabricated lower suspension air spring buckets, four replacement air springs, a dedicated compressor-and-tank mounting platform, and an AccuAir AirRide system with position sensors and E-Level presets. Additional work included installation of an Ididit steering column with a Carrera steering wheel, repair of the turn signals and brake lights, fabrication of front-door lock rods, replacement of window felts and rubber, and repairs to the wiring, cooling, and charging systems. The 389ci V8 is equipped with a four-barrel carburetor and dual exhaust and sends power through a three-speed automatic transmission and Safe-T-Track limited-slip rear differential. Finished in Black over two-tone leather, the car also features Boss Motorsports wheels, power steering, power-assisted front disc brakes, air conditioning, and an aftermarket stereo. This Catalina Safari is now offered with a clean Oregon title in the seller’s name.

A total of 33,496 Catalina Safari station wagons were built in six- and nine-passenger variants for the 1964 model year. This example was repainted black under previous ownership and features chrome bumpers and trim, quad stacked headlights, and a roll-down rear window. The trim has been removed in places, and the windows have been tinted.

The car is equipped with power steering and an AccuAir AirRide suspension with position sensors and E-Level presets. Choice Chassis and Brake fabricated lower airbag buckets, replaced all four airbags, and installed mounting provisions for the compressor and air tanks.

The five-spoke Boss Motorsports wheels feature black centers with polished lips and are mounted with Triangle 245/45ZR-18 tires at the front and Falken FK452 255/35ZR-20 tires at the rear.

The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench trimmed in black and tan leather along with color-coordinated door panels. Black carpets line the floors, and additional equipment includes a center console and a Sound Storm Labs touchscreen infotainment system. The seller notes that the power seats and air conditioning are currently inoperative, the clock does not work, and the rear seatbelts are missing. The dashboard control for the tailgate window is inoperative; the window can be lowered using the key.

An Ididit chrome tilt steering column with a Carrera steering wheel was installed under current ownership. The reported work also included restoring the door-lock mechanisms, repairing the turn signals and brake lights, and replacing the window felts and rubber. The seller has driven around 300 of the 33k indicated miles, though total mileage is unknown.

The air tank and compressors are mounted under the cargo floor.

The 389ci V8 is equipped with a four-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock valve covers, and a dual-exhaust system. Since the previous listing, a local mechanic repaired nonfunctional wiring, corrected the cooling fans to address an overheating issue, repaired the charging system, and installed a trickle charger.

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission, which has a fluid leak.
