This 1936 Ford Model 68 five-window coupe was purchased by the owner’s late father in the early 1950s, who gifted it to the owner at the age of 12 in 1968. The owner drove the car until the early 2000s, and it then sat for almost 20 years until he commissioned a custom build by the seller in 2021 at a claimed cost of over $300k. Now powered by a 392 Hemi V8 paired with a 200R4 four-speed automatic transmission, the build incorporated a new frame, a Ford 9″ third member, a limited-slip differential with 3.70:1 gearing, power rack-and-pinion steering, power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes, Kugel Komponents front and rear independent suspension, and a host of new mechanical components. The engine is fitted with a Hot Heads aluminum intake manifold, Hot Heads 392 Hemi aluminum heads, a Holley carburetor, tubular headers, finned aluminum valve covers, an electric cooling fan, and MagnaFlow mufflers. Finished in Candy Brandywine over tan leather, the car also features American Racing Salt Flat-style wheels, air conditioning, and a power bench seat. Completed in 2025, this Deluxe five-window coupe is now offered by the seller on behalf of its owner with a car cover and a clean California title.

Per the seller, the car was originally owned by the seller’s father, who is believed to have acquired it in the early 1950s. It remained running until the early 2000s, when it was set aside for a complete rebuild. The car was subsequently brought to the seller in January 2021. Kev’s Rod and Custom performed the metalwork, and JV Enterprises completed the bodywork, paint, upholstery, and final finishing. The seller states that more than $300,000 was spent during the four-year build.

The car is finished in Candy Brandywine and features a filled roof, chrome bumpers, and dual side mirrors. The entire body was painted as part of the build, while the new frame and suspension components were powder-coated.

The suspension uses a Kugel Komponents independent front end with coilovers, fabricated control arms, and cast stainless-steel spindle assemblies, while the rear is equipped with a Kugel Komponents Jaguar-style independent suspension. Rack-and-pinion steering and power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes are fitted.

The American Racing Salt Flat-style wheels are mounted with 195/65 Laufenn G Fit AS tires at the front and 275/60 BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires at the rear.

The cabin features a power bench seat upholstered in tan leather. Equipment includes air conditioning, Bluetooth connectivity, and a rear-view mirror with back-up camera along with a Lokar-style parking brake and a swan-neck double-bend shifter.

The driver is provided a leather-wrapped banjo-style steering wheel, a tilt column, and AutoMeter-style instrumentation. The owner has added around 50 of the 707 miles indicated.

The 392 Hemi V8 was installed as part of the 2021–2025 rebuild. The engine uses a Hot Heads aluminum intake manifold and Hot Heads 392 Hemi aluminum cylinder heads as well as a Holley carburetor, tubular headers, finned aluminum valve covers, an IMI high-torque starter, an electric cooling fan, polished coolant overflow tank, aluminum radiator, a transmission cooler, and MagnaFlow mufflers.

An Art Carr-built 200R4 four-speed automatic transmission with overdrive was retrofitted, per the seller, along with a Ford 9″ third member with a 3.70:1 limited-slip differential.
The car is titled as a 1936 Ford using VIN 182676774.
