40k-Mile 1981 Chevrolet Corvette 4-Speed

This 1981 Chevrolet Corvette coupe spent 43 years with its previous owner before being acquired by the seller on BaT in June 2024. Now showing under 40k miles, it is powered by a 350ci L81 V8 paired with a four-speed manual transmission and has been refinished in bronze metallic over black seat upholstery. Equipment includes a Positraction differential, lowering springs, Bilstein front and KYB rear shocks, 15″ eight-slot alloy wheels, removable glass roof panels, pop-up headlights, a rear spoiler, a power-adjustable driver seat, air conditioning, a Hurst shifter, and a Pioneer Bluetooth stereo and speakers. This C3 Corvette is offered with a clean Carfax report and a clean California title in the seller’s name.

The car was repainted bronze metallic circa 2004. Exterior details include removable glass T-top roof panels, pop-up headlights, side marker lights, fender air vents, sport mirrors, window tint film, a power antenna, a rear spoiler, and quad bubble taillights.

Eight-slot 15″ alloy wheels have knockoff spinners and wear 26×12″ Mickey Thompson Sportsman S/R tires mounted in 2015. The car has been fitted with lowering springs as well as Bilstein shocks up front and KYB shocks out back. Braking is handled by power-assisted four-wheel discs with Wilwood rear calipers.

The black bucket seats are accented by a tan dashboard, door panels, and carpeting. Interior amenities include a power-adjustable driver seat, air conditioning, power windows, a carpeted dash mat, a Hurst T-handle shifter, and a Pioneer Bluetooth stereo and speakers.

The leather-wrapped steering wheel is mounted to a tilting column and frames an 85-mph speedometer and a 7k-rpm tachometer while gauges for coolant temperature, fuel level, oil temperature, oil pressure, and voltage are located in the center stack. The five-digit odometer shows under 40k miles, approximately 500 of which were added under current ownership.

The 350ci L81 V8 was factory rated at 190 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque and features an ACCEL distributor as well as a chrome-covered alternator, air cleaner, and valve covers. The oil was changed, the radiator was flushed, and the upper radiator hose and radiator cap were replaced in July 2024. The battery was replaced in preparation for the sale. The car most recently passed a California smog test in July 2024.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a Positraction differential. The car is equipped with glasspack mufflers and quadruple upturned exhaust outlets

The Carfax report is free of accidents or other damage.
