1965 Greeves 24TFS at No Reserve

This 1965 Greeves 24TFS is a competition trials motorcycle that is powered by a 246cc two-stroke single paired with a four-speed gearbox, and it was refurbished in white over a Moorland Blue frame in 2014. It features a leading-link front end, a Greeves square-barrel top end, a trials-style solo seat, a Tomaselli side-pull throttle, 21″ front and 19″ rear wire-spoke wheels, NJB shocks, and a high-mount exhaust system and fenders. This Greeves 24TFS is now offered by the selling dealer at no reserve in California for off-road use only with a bill of sale.

The multi-component frame was refinished in Moorland Blue and is comprised of a cast aluminum alloy beam downtube joined to a box-section engine cradle and a backbone formed from Reynolds 531 manganese-molybdenum tubing. The fuel tank and high-mount fenders are finished in white, with the former featuring a Dave Bickers signature. Additional features include a solo trials seat, a side stand, a clip-on front number plate.

Wire-spoke wheels featuring 21″ front and 19″ rear chrome rims older trials tires that show sidewall cracks. Corrosion is visible on the hubs and spokes. Suspension consists of a Greeves leading-link fork along with NJB shocks mounted to the tapered box-section steel swingarm. Braking is provided by cable-actuated front and rear drums.

The handlebar carries gray and black grips as well as a Tomaselli side-pull throttle and Tomaselli levers. No instrumentation is present, though the selling dealer estimates about 35 minutes of runtime in the past 12 years. Total mileage is unknown.

The 37A 246cc two-stroke single was sourced from Villiers and outfitted by Greeves with its alloy square-barrel top end, an Amal concentric carburetor, and a compression release assembly. It also features an aftermarket air filter and kick-starter. The fuel tank was cleaned and the carburetor rebuilt in preparation for the sale, and the selling dealer notes that the engine has an oil leak.

Power is sent to the rear wheel via a four-speed transmission with a right-side shifter as well as a drive chain.

The bike does not have a title or registration and is being offered on a bill of sale only.
