This 1970 Mercedes-Benz 300SEL 6.3 is a US-market car that is said to have received a mechanical and cosmetic refurbishment in Germany in 2016 to the tune of $90k. It is finished in metallic blue over blue leather upholstery and is powered by a 6.3-liter V8 linked to a four-speed automatic transmission. Highlights include 14″ steel wheels, self-leveling air suspension, disc brakes, R134a air conditioning, and a Becker Europa stereo. This W109 was acquired by the selling dealer in 2026 and is now offered in Indiana with an owner’s manual, a service manual, spare parts, and a Maryland title.

The car left the factory finished in Medium Blue Metallic (396), and exterior features include stacked quad headlights, wrap-around bumpers, a driver-side mirror, front vent windows, “6.3” decklid badging, a Standing Star hood ornament, town and country horns, a power antenna, and butterfly-style windshield wipers. Close-up photos of the exterior are provided in the gallery below.

The 14″ steel wheels wear bright-finished covers with body-color centers and are mounted with Michelin XWX tires. The car was equipped from the factory with a self-leveling suspension with front and rear air-spring bellows and torsion bar stabilizers. Stopping power is provided by power-assisted disc brakes at all four corners. Various steering and suspension components were replaced during the refurbishment.

The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench trimmed in blue leather upholstery, along with wood trim accents on the dash and door panels. Interior appointments include driver’s seat-height adjustment, power windows, central locking, a Becker Europa stereo, and a heated rear window. The air conditioning system was converted to utilize R134a refrigerant under previous ownership. The wooden dashboard fascia is said to have received replacement lacquer some time ago, and various burl wood trim accents were refinished during the refurbishment. There is a split in the dashboard.

The two-spoke steering wheel features a chrome horn ring and frames VDO instrumentation consisting of a 160-mph speedometer, a central 6k-rpm tachometer, and a combination gauge for coolant temperature, fuel level, and oil pressure. The five-digit odometer has rolled over and shows 26k miles, approximately 200 of which have been added by the selling dealer. True mileage is unknown. The fuel gauge does not read accurately.

The 6.3-liter M100 V8 features Bosch mechanical fuel injection and was rated at 300 horsepower and 435 lb-ft of torque when new. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission. The valve bodies for the transmission are said to have been rebuilt during the refurbishment, and various fuel system and exhaust components were reportedly replaced.
