Isn’t it wonderful when the Cat Distribution System works its way into some unsuspecting hooman’s life? 

Sometimes in life, the most wonderful episodes happen when we least expect them. We may find exactly what we needed without even noticing or ever looking for it. 

I believe that pets are one of those lovely life coincidences, a serendipity, if you will. We love animals because, how could we not? They’re the best part of inhabiting this planet. But it’s not like we’re constantly looking for a new pet or a new animal to be friends with. Those come into our lives unexpectedly and just get there to make everything better and provide us with a much-needed dose of furry happiness. We can be walking down the street or driving in our car and suddenly hear a faraway barking or a high-pitched meow. In those moments, we can’t just ignore it: we have to know where it’s coming from and what defenseless creature needs our attention. That’s pretty much how the Cat Distribution System works: finding kitties at random moments and feeling so in love with them that we have no choice but to take them with us. It’s a win-win type of situation: we get a lifelong companion, and they get the love of a family. What could be better than that? 

I know what I’m talking about because that’s pretty much what happened to me. My cat got into my life in the most random moment ever, and exactly when I needed her the most. My friend texted me on a Wednesday, telling me she and her husband were fostering a kitten they couldn’t keep and asking if I could take her. It was so out of the blue that I didn’t even know what to say, but after a little while of thinking about it, I could say nothing other than yes. 

For this guy, it was pretty much like that. He was walking down the street when he found a small furbaby out and alone in the cold. He took it home with him, and soon became the best of friends!
