1964 Dodge Custom 880 Four-Door Sedan

This 1964 Dodge Custom 880 four-door sedan was purchased out of Ohio by the seller in 2022, and subsequent refurbishment work that was completed in 2026 involved repainting the body in metallic blue with a white top, reupholstering the interior in blue vinyl and patterned cloth, replacing the dashboard and the gauges, installing an app-based audio system, and overhauling the cooling and ignition systems. Powered by a 383ci V8 linked with a push-button three-speed automatic transmission, the vehicle is equipped with spinner-style wheel covers, power brakes, power steering, a tilting steering column, front lap belts, and a dual exhaust system. This 880 is now offered with records from current ownership, spare parts, and an Ohio title in the seller’s name.

Dodge manufactured 3,903 Custom 880 four-door sedans for the 1964 model year. Finished from the factory in two-tone White (upper) and Medium Turquoise Metallic (body)—code WK—this example was stripped, rusted areas were repaired, and body work was performed before the car was repainted in 2025, as detailed in records viewable in the photo gallery below.

Exterior features include quad headlights, fender-top ornaments, a driver-side mirror, side-window rain guards, reverse lights, bright trim, dual exhaust outlets, and chrome bumpers. The window felts were replaced in March 2026. The seller notes a dent in the rear bumper and also that the door seals will need to be replaced.

Black-painted 14″ steel wheels feature spinner-style covers and are mounted with National XT4000 radial whitewall tires measuring 205/75. The Dodge is equipped with power steering. Braking is provided by power-assisted drums at each corner; the brake booster was rebuilt in 2022 and the power-brake check valve was replaced.

The bench seats were reupholstered during the refurbishment in turquoise patterned cloth and vinyl using materials sourced from SMS Auto Fabrics. The front armrests and the windlace also were replaced. An Astrophonic All Transistor push-button AM radio is located in the dashboard, and the seller tells us that an app-based audio system plays through JBL 6×9″ speakers and JL Audio 4″ coaxial speakers.

A close-up view of the cloth material of the upholstery is shown above, surrounding the ashtray that is positioned in the front seatback.

The two-spoke steering wheel has a horn ring, is secured to a tilting column, and fronts a push-button shifter. Instrumentation consists of a sweeping 120-mph speedometer, a clock, and auxiliary gauges; the instrument cluster was replaced during the refurbishment, as was the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 95k miles, approximately 5k of which were added by the seller.

The trunk compartment was rustproofed and seam-sealed in 2025.

The 383ci V8 was factory equipped with a two-barrel carburetor and was rated at 305 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque when new. The following work has been performed under current ownership:

  • 2022
    • Rebuilt carburetor
    • Replaced distributor cap, points, condenser, and spark-plug wires
  • 2024
    • Replaced valve-cover gaskets
    • Replaced spark plugs
  • 2025
    • Replaced battery and hold-down
  • March 2026
    • Replaced water pump, thermostat, and radiator hoses
    • Replaced heater-core controls, heater hoses, and temperature sensor

The oil was changed most recently in March 2026.

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a push-button TorqueFlite three-speed automatic transmission.

The fender tag indicates that the vehicle is a Dodge Custom 880 four-door sedan (523) that left the factory equipped with a 383ci V8 featuring a two-barrel carburetor (P5) along with a TorqueFlite three-speed automatic transmission (A5). The tag also reveals that the car was originally finished in two-tone White and Medium Turquoise metallic (WK) over bench seats upholstered in turquoise cloth and vinyl (L1Q), had an Astrophonic AM radio (H2) and a front heater with defroster (K5), and was scheduled for production on June 11 (0611).

The Ohio title lists a “non-actual warning: odometer discrepancy” Mileage Notation.
