This 1964 Porsche 356C cabriolet was acquired by the seller in 2020, and its flat-four was rebuilt and fitted with a big-bore kit, a SCAT crankshaft, Willhoit cylinder heads, and a performance camshaft between 2023 and 2024. Additional work included rebuilding the Zenith carburetors, installing Koni shocks, rebuilding the fuel pump and distributor, and refinishing the engine bay and underside. The car has been repainted green over tan leather, and equipment includes a four-speed manual transaxle, a tan soft top, a black removable hardtop, 15″ steel wheels with hubcaps, disc brakes, a Blaupunkt radio, a Les Leston wood-rimmed steering wheel, and an analog clock. This 356C cabriolet is now offered with a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, service records, the owner’s manual, spare parts, a set of 15″ Lemmerz wheels, and Connecticut registration in the seller’s name.

This Reutter-built body came finished from the factory in Light Ivory and was repainted green some time prior to the car’s participation in the 2003 Copperstate 1000 rally. The front bumper was refinished in 2021, and features include a tan soft top, a black removable hardtop, a windshield washer system, and an underside front tow ring.

The 15″ chrome steel wheels wear hubcaps with Porsche crests and are mounted with Bridgestone Potenza tires. The car was factory equipped with disc brakes at each corner. Koni shocks were installed and the sway bar bushings were replaced in 2024.

The front bucket seats and rear jump seats are upholstered in tan leather, and interior appointments include a body-color painted dashboard, a cabin heater, lap belts, a Blaupunkt Berlin radio, and an analog clock.

The Les Leston wood-rimmed steering wheel features a bright horn ring and frames VDO instrumentation consisting of a central tachometer with a 5k-rpm redline as well as a 120-mph speedometer and a combination gauge for oil temperature and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 49k miles, which is not considered to be accurate. The seller states that less than 500 miles have been added since the engine rebuild, and total mileage is unknown.

The flat-four was rebuilt by SST Auto of Danbury, Connecticut, using 86mm pistons and cylinders, a SCAT crankshaft, lightweight connecting rods, a performance camshaft, a 9.4:1 compression ratio, and Willhoit WR cylinder heads between 2023 and 2024. The Zenith carburetors, the Bosch distributor, and the fuel pump were also rebuilt and a replacement generator and oil pump were installed.

Engine stamping *710322* is shown above, and a corresponding number is listed on the Porsche CoA and Kardex.

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle. The underside and engine compartment were refinished at the time of the engine rebuild.

The Porsche Certificate of Authenticity shows the factory colors and serial numbers along with a birth/delivery date of August 29, 1963. A copy of the Kardex is viewable in the gallery.

A spare set of 15×4.5″ steel Lemmerz wheels is included in the sale.
The vehicle is being sold on its Connecticut registration, which serves as an ownership document in that state.
