This 1972 Volkswagen Beetle was acquired by the seller in 2022 and subsequently built into a Baja bug. Work involved refinishing the car in House of Kolor Blue and installing a 2,276cc flat-four, a four-speed manual transaxle, and MasterCraft Baja RS bucket seats. Additional modifications include widened fiberglass bodywork, custom structural tube bumpers, Warrior front suspension components, Fox Racing shocks, and a roll cage. This modified Beetle is now offered at no reserve with build photos and a clean California title in the seller’s name.

The body was stripped to bare metal and the front clip was removed. Custom Baja-style fiberglass body panels were installed, and the car was then refinished in House of Kolor Blue. Custom DOM structural steel tube bumpers and side rock sliders were also fabricated. The front bumper features an aluminum skid plate, and additional exterior details include custom Halo headlights, auxiliary lighting, a Wolfsburg hood crest, and a concealed fuel filler. The glass and weatherstripping were replaced during the build.

Black 15″ steel wheels are mounted with 30.0/7.0 Mickey Thompson Baja Pro front and 30×9.50 BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 rear tires. Stopping power is provided by drum brakes at all four corners. The suspension was modified with a Warrior King and Link Pin front beam assembly as well as Fox Racing 2.0 Pro Series shocks. The steering box was rebuilt, and the torsion bar bushings and steering linkage universal joints were replaced.

The cabin features MasterCraft Baja RS heated front bucket seats trimmed in black cloth. The rear bulkhead and storage area are coated in bedliner material. A custom DOM tubular roll cage has been installed. Additional appointments include Pro Armor five-point safety harnesses, carbon-fiber door panels, a Scat short-throw shifter, and an NRG Innovations quick-release steering wheel hub. The wiring was replaced, the pedals were modified, and a Custom Autosound receiver was installed.

The Grant steering wheel fronts a 100-mph speedometer with an inset fuel-level gauge as well as auxiliary readouts. The five-digit odometer shows 38k miles, approximately 3,000 of which were added under current ownership.

The air-cooled 2,276cc flat-four was built using CB Performance components and installed in 2026. Equipment includes a heavy-duty aluminum case, a forged crankshaft and connecting rods, forged JE pistons, and High-Velocity 044 Magnum Plus cylinder heads. The engine is also outfitted with:
- Dual Weber 44 IDF carburetors
- MagnaSpark II electronic distributor
- 55-amp alternator
- MST billet serpentine belt system
- High-torque starter
- Optima RedTop battery
- Derale remote oil cooler
The engine is surrounded by a tubular protection cage and a steel skid plate.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle. A lightweight chromoly flywheel and a Kennedy 200mm Stage 2 clutch have been installed.
