1966 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible 427 4-Speed

This 1966 Chevrolet Corvette convertible was acquired by the selling dealer in 2026 and is said to have come from a collection of 60 other Corvettes housed in a New York state barn. Power is provided by a 427ci V8 linked with a four-speed manual transmission and a Positraction differential, and additional equipment includes a body-color removable hardtop, a replacement black soft top, 15″ steel wheels with faux knock-off covers, power steering, four-wheel disc brakes, side-exit exhaust, a cabin heater, and an AM/FM radio. This C2 convertible is now offered by the selling dealer with a clean Pennsylvania title.

The fiberglass body was finished at the factory in Silver Pearl (986) and was refinished in a shade similar to Silver Blue under previous ownership. Features include a body-color removable hardtop, a replacement black convertible soft top, a domed hood, flip-up headlights, chrome bumpers, fender vents, a driver-side mirror, a side-exit exhaust system, and a retractable antenna.

The 15″ steel wheels wear faux-knock-off covers and are mounted with reproduction Firestone tires. The C2 was the first Corvette to offer fully independent suspension, with upper and lower control arms at the front and a three-link setup with a transverse leaf spring at the rear. The car is equipped with power steering and aftermarket shocks. Braking is handled by four-wheel discs.

The cabin features two bucket seats upholstered in black vinyl as well as color-coordinated door panels and carpets. Amenities include a heater, an AM/FM radio, an analog clock, and lap belts.

The three-spoke steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer, an inoperative tachometer, and auxiliary gauges for fuel level, amperage, oil pressure, and water temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 19k miles, approximately 20 of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage unknown.

The 427ci V8 is equipped with a four-barrel carburetor. Work in preparation for the sale is said to have included cleaning the carburetor, draining the fuel, and changing the oil.

The engine stamping is shown above.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a Positraction differential.
