This 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air convertible was acquired by the current owner in 2014 and underwent a multi-year build and modification process that was completed in 2023. Bodywork and metal fabrication that were completed by the seller’s shop, Sonny’s Speed & Kustom of Twin Falls, Idaho, included shaved door handles, tucked bumpers, and metallic beige paintwork with gray accents as well as a custom air intake system for the 6.2-liter LS3 crate engine with fabricated ductwork integrated into the headlight bezels. Shifting is through a 4L60E four-speed automatic transmission that is linked to a Ford 9″ rear end with an Eaton Detroit Truetrac differential. An Art Morrison GT Sport chassis was used, and the car has Wilwood disc brakes, Schott Performance wheels, coilovers, and a dual exhaust system with Borla mufflers. Front bucket seats and the rear bench were trimmed in burgundy leather with gray accents, and the cabin is further equipped with a retro-look head unit, Vintage Air climate control, power windows, and a center console. The car has been honored with 2024 and 2025 awards from the International Show Car Association and Goodguys, respectively. This Bel Air convertible is now offered by the seller on behalf of the owner with partial refurbishment records, refurbishment photos, and a clean Idaho title in the owner’s name.
The bodywork was taken to bare metal, rust repair was performed, and fabrication work was completed before a repaint in beige metallic with gray accents. Revised design elements include tucked one-piece bumpers and shaved door handles with a keyless entry system. The paintwork is complemented by a power-operated charcoal gray soft top.
An Art Morrison GT Sport chassis was used for the build, and details include coilovers, rack-and-pinion steering, and Wilwood brakes with cross-drilled and slotted rotors. Schott Performance Wheels 18″ and 19″ multi-spoke wheels are mounted with Michelin Pilot Sport tires.
The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench that were upholstered in burgundy leather by Interior Revolution in Caldwell, Idaho, in 2023, and a full-length center console with storage, a wireless cellphone charger, and front and rear cup holders was fabricated at that time. Gray cloth inserts are fitted on the backrests, and coordinated mats protect the gray carpets. Vintage Air climate control has been installed, and other details include power windows and a retro-look head unit.
The three-spoke aftermarket steering wheel is mounted on an Ididit column, and it has a horn ring and trim coordinated to match the interior. Dakota Digital instrumentation was installed following the build and currently shows 7 miles. The seller estimates that approximately 80 miles have been added following the build.
The seller reports that the 6.2-liter V8 is an LS3 crate engine that was installed in 2019. Modifications to the engine bay include a lowered radiator support, fabricated inner fenders, and concealed air boxes with ducts integrated into the headlight bezels. An oil change was performed in March 2026. The engine is backed by a 4L60E four-speed automatic transmission and a Ford 9″ rear end with an Eaton Truetrac differential. An American Autowire body harness was utilized along with a BP Performance engine and transmission harness.
